Entering registration details
Full name: Enter your name as you would like it to appear on your Certificate of Completion.
Public Username: This is what we will see when we check your progress. The username must be unique, so your first choice may not be available.
Email: Must be the email you signed up with. Be sure to type your email address correctly. If you have signed up individually this will be the email you used to register with.
If you are part of a group booking it will be your work email. The platform will not know if you have made any typos or spelling mistakes, so please double check.
Password: Create a memorable password for the platform. We have no access to your password details so we can’t tell you what it is if you forget.
If you are not sure what you are supposed to be doing our Training Guide will help!
Troubleshooting / Frequently asked questions
1. I am trying to create an account, but it won’t accept my details.
The username you have typed may not be available – try adding a number or special character (but no spaces) to the end of it.
2. I can’t open the link to the Eyes On the Baby training.
Make sure you are using a compatible browser and you are opening Eyes on the Baby on Safari, Chrome, or Microsoft Edge. If you are using a computer at work, try opening the course on a personal device as some workplace networks block unfamiliar websites.
3. I can’t find the email from the training platform.
Unfortunately, automated emails sometimes go straight to spam or junk folders, so please check there.
4. I can access the course, but the videos won’t play!
There may be something blocking the videos from playing. Make sure you are using a compatible browser and you are opening Eyes on the Baby on Safari, Chrome, or Microsoft Edge. If you are using a computer at work, try opening the course on a personal device and see whether you can play the videos there as some workplace networks block unfamiliar websites. If you are still experiencing issues, let us know.
5. I can see the videos playing, but there is no sound.
This tends to be a local error, so please ensure the volume on your device is turned all the way up or consider using a pair of headphones/earphones. If you still cannot hear the presenter and you are using a computer at work then it may be worth getting in touch with your local IT support.
6. I have created an account but it says ‘no courses available’.
After you have created your name and password you will need to activate your account. Look out for an email with a link that says ‘activate your account’. Check your junk mail!
If you don’t create an account within 10 days of the original registration email, the link will expire. If this happens, email the project team at eyes.on.the.baby@durham.ac.uk with your full name, and the details of the course that you wish to complete. We will then be able to re-enrol you so you can gain access to the course.
7. I have forgotten my password!
You can reset your password on the login page. Make sure that you enter your email correctly (same address, and correct case), and check your spam folder if the reset email does not come through. We have no access to your passwords so we are not able to tell you what it is.
8. How do I get my certificate?
A certificate can be downloaded upon completion of the training course. In order to be eligible you should: watch all training videos, complete any quizzes and have an overall pass rate of 80% or higher. Remember, you can retake the quizzes as many times as you like to improve your score.
